‘America Heard’ is a documentary collective born out of a desire to engage in dialogue that bridges political divides and to foster discussions missing from mainstream media throughout the election. They are looking to incorporate a breadth of backgrounds and perspectives, encouraging filmmakers to find subjects or themes that fall outside of their own political viewpoints. This includes a diversity not only in front of the camera, but behind it as well.
With many filmmakers signed up from cities and coastal states, they are looking to expand across the United States. As of now, there are no filmmakers from North Dakota.
In terms of regulations, the films are kept to a maximum of five minutes. Films need to be submitted by January 10th. Topics and themes will not be regulated. Hate speech in any form is prohibited. The films will be reviewed before being posted to the website and if they cross the line of hateful dialogue or don’t adhere to the essence of the original call to action, those films WILL NOT BE ON THE SITE.
